you can get a few things at your grocery store and then pick your own berries and flowers (for free) right next to the store.

The berries taste better than any you can buy...yum!

Next to the berry bushes you can gather lovely Queen Anne's Lace (some call weeds) and place them in pretty in old vintage blue jars I've been collecting.

I love simplicity!

Dear sister, it reminds of days on the farm with mom. Picking berries and Queen Annes Lace. What a great way to start my day. Thanks!
I love the blue glassware...you and I would shop well together. We would be fighting over the finds of the day! LOL LOL
Candace those photos are spectacular! the berries look yummy too! :)
Sherice they are raspberries, but the other ones are blackberries....those are super sweet...yum, yum, yum!
Crystal every time I pick some I always think of mom doing that with us. I think we ended eating more then we picked...lol! I'm going to go back down today and take the kids with, they love picking berries too. I always remind them, this is something Grammy did with my us as kids...I think they like that part too...we all miss her so and I try to do things with them, that she would have done. I just can't seem to get them to go for the sliced onions in the sock...how odd, lol!! :)
Carolyn the berries were yummy! :)
You gave me a great idea! Thanks Candace. I am going to cut some of the Queen Anne's in my back yard and do the same thing. It never occered to me that that flower would be pretty in old bottels (I have many). Sometimes You need a different set of eyes to see things you can't. Thanks
xoxo
I'm glad I could inspire you Lisa...they do make wonderful cut flowers. :)
Well, now I need some old bottles. How lovely that looks. I love, love Queen Ann's lace. It doesn't look like a weed to me at all. I was so happy when I realized that we had so much of it here in Kentucky. Those berries look so good, wish I had some.
Hugs,
Carolyn
I LOVE Queen Anne's Lace! I almost asked hubby to pull over a half hour ago for a quick grab, but the traffic was too busy...rush hour :(
And I collect vintage bottles! I'll post some tomorrow.
The berries also have a special place in my heart. My Great Aunt owned a hotel in the Catskill mountains and we used to stay there for a week every summer. I used to wander off with an empty coffee can, fill it with blue berries and come back an bake pies in their big commercial kitchen. I felt so important.
Thanks for the stroll!
Beautiful! My mom collects the cobalt blue glass bottle and keeps garden clippings in them when she wants to grow new roots for re-planting.
Nothing beats sun through colored glass.
